LightShine Pomeranians is a creation of Linda Hodgens: In 2007, I had a vision of snowy white Pomeranians running through my yard. This fantastical vision soon became my reality! I started with my first two adorable girls 'Duchess' and 'AngelEyes', and in the mix, my first orange sable boy Prince Charming!
I discovered that these poms were more human than humans in their ability to 'connect' their loving hearts to mine. I became fascinated with their pedigrees, finding " jewels" within them, otherwise known as champions. The poise, intelligence, and beauty of these remarkable poms opened my eyes to a new horizon.
Breeding Pomeranians is a joyful dedication filled with new challenges and learning!
As a breeder for more than 15 years, I am grateful my holistic nursing experience has given me insight into producing happy healthy puppies. Intelligent puppies that are curious and responsive to training result from choosing Pomeranian parents from top pedigrees whose personalities are sweet and smart. Our LightShine's poms have access to multiple levels inside and outside, with play areas via doggie doors for their enjoyment, health and safety.
Home breeding 24/7!
Our Poms are loved, picked up, groomed, bathed, up to date on shots, and visit the vet as needed! Puppy births, puppy care and socialization all done with a very watchful eye! Puppies are socialized to sounds and touch to produce confident happy poms. There is a head to toe vet assessment form done prior to leaving which is given to their new owner. Each new owner is given a Health and Safey Information sheet based on years of my experience to assure the puppy and customer have a happy healthy future ahead.
Pomeranians do not disappoint when it comes to devotion to their owners! I provide information on health, safety, grooming, teeth cleaning, and a host of other care needs for each of my pom adoptions. The health and safety information potentially saves each pom owner from accidents, as well as provides tips on best care options, with savings financially and emotionally for the wellbeing of each pom and owner.
This information is vital so that each furever friend can stay as healthy and safe as possible in the loving arms of their human companions.
Hello! I am the 'Visionaire 'of LightShine Pomeranians! I have been dreaming of the creative aspect of breeding for so long! This, to me, is the art as well as science, of what I do each day! To bring that puppy into the arms of those who await them! It is my journey of love and faith!
I have been breeding Pomeranians for 15 years! I started my journey with a vision of white Pomeranians running through my yard! This fantastical vision soon became my reality! My husband responded to my interest and located white Pomeranians that soon found me driving from New York to Ohio. I chose the girls and named one Duchess and the other AngelEyes, and in the mix, my first orange sable boy, Prince Charming! I discovered that these poms were more human than humans in their ability to 'connect' their loving hearts to mine. I became fascinated with their pedigrees, finding " jewels" within them, otherwise known as champions! The poise, intelligence, and beauty of these remarkable poms opened my eyes to a new horizon. I added black to my white program to enhance pigmentation and quality through CH Zorro's Just Call Me Superfly who bonded to me like glue: I hired a wonderful handler who showed him to his championship. Thereafter he won two consecutive years at the National Pomeranian competition in his color category. I have had the honor of purchasing Champion sired Gaulke's Pippin at Lightshine, and importing CH sired Iceman Iz Posol Stva Krasoty from Ukraine whom I call LightShine's Kingdom. Kingdom is champion sired from one of the finest white poms in the world, BISS CH Persimoone Ice White.
My journey has been enhanced by my medical background as a holistic nurse because I have been able to apply this knowledge to their care.
I am grateful for the people's lives each of the Lightshine pom babies have impacted over the years. Getting to know their owners has given me the gift of friendships across the USA. Their owner’s stories of how each has helped their lives become better, sweeter, and full of Lightshine Pom love, has kept me going as a breeder all these years! Breeding poms has been a joyful dedication filled with new challenges and learning! I have learned how to birth puppies, which has been a 'labor' of love even if it did keep me up all night into the next day! I have learned how to groom for basic care, and groom for showing. I even had the privilege of learning how to be a handler myself when I showed CH Superfly's and AngelEyes daughter, LightShine's Black Diamond aka "Zoey" who won a major her first day of showing! Breeding with the goal of excellence has taught me how to be more diligent and innovative! The Pomeranians themselves have taught me about values of faith, love, and perseverance.
Along the way, I have been blessed by kindness from breeders who gifted me to learn from them and purchase from their spectacular lines. Each champion in my pedigrees means their breeder spent many hours, and great expense, to produce the champions present in my lines. They have added tremendous quality to LightShine Pomeranians. I salute each one.
Our Pomeranians are raised in our home under loving care and vigilance toward their wellbeing. They have access to multiple levels inside and outside play areas via doggie doors for their enjoyment, health and safety. I have a grooming table, deep sink for baths, and care for coats, nails, and teeth. They are up to date on shots, and visit the vet as needed. I do not breed Pomeranians with BSD, or ill health. Adults are sometimes available and will leave here with clean teeth, neuter or spay, except under special circumstances.
My goal is to breed loving, well tempered and healthy Pomeranians. There is a head to toe vet assessment form done prior to leaving which is given to their new owner. Puppies are birthed in special warm environments, monitored for weight gain, given supplemental tube feedings if needed, and this may involve being up throughout the night multiple nights for weeks on end at times. Care for birthing, newborns, and postpartum mother’s care is energy intensive and because the Pomeranian is known as the heartbreak breed, sometimes there are heartbreaking losses no matter how much effort is put in. It is a joyful result when puppies become available!
Pomeranians do not disappoint when it comes to devotion to their owners. The males bond deeply which is a special quality as they attach to their owner like Velcro! The females are sweet as can be! Pomeranians are known for their alert, attentive nature, and are intelligent. They can learn to do tricks and respond very well to treats as rewards. Small children may not be a great match for the tiny toy Pomeranian due to safety concerns. Pomeranians need someone home with them during the day because they are very attached and will become sad and anxious all day alone. They like to go on walks, and cuddle close. I provide information on health, safety, grooming, teeth cleaning, and a host of other care needs for each of my pom adoptions. This information is vital so that each furever friend can stay as healthy and safe as possible in the loving arms of their human companions.
